    Our agricultural client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Lab Manager who takes full ownership of lab operations. They’re seeking someone who ensures the lab runs efficiently, sets high standards for quality and safety, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. This is a leadership role for someone who not only double-checks results but empowers their team to do the same—with curiosity, accountability, and precision.

    Compensation & Hours:
    • The rate of pay will be $20 - $30/hr. depending on experience
    • This is a full-time, temporary position with potential for permanency
    • Occasional night shifts, every 1-3 months
    • Monday – Friday
     
    Position Summary:
    • Lead and oversee all day-to-day laboratory operations
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, protocols, and quality benchmarks
    • Mentor and supervise lab staff; provide training and performance feedback
    • Oversee equipment calibration, inventory management, and lab cleanliness
    • Evaluate and optimize testing procedures and workflow
    • Analyze and interpret lab data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
    • Act as liaison between lab team, production, and upper management
    • Champion continuous improvement and identify opportunities for process enhancements
    • Contribute to the testing and validation of new products or experimental processes
     
    Required Qualifications:
    • Proven leadership experience in a lab setting
    • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
    • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
    • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, safety, and efficiency
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and lab data systems
    • Solid understanding of quality assurance standards in food/agriculture or related industries
     
     
    Bonus Points For:
    • Post-secondary education; Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Agriculture, Microbiology, or related
    • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g., CFIA, FDA, HACCP, ISO)
