Yard Operations and Maintenance

Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with our local client in their search for a Yard Maintenance Worker with their Class 1 License. We’re looking for a dependable and hands-on person who enjoys working outdoors and has a mechanical aptitude.

• The rate of pay will be $30/hr.
• This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position

• Operating Class 1 vehicles for hauls within our client’s yard
• Maintaining and organizing the yard - equipment, trailers, tools, and materials
• Using technical expertise to assist operations in the optimization of equipment
• Conducting mechanical checks and performing minor repairs
• Assisting with loading/unloading materials, snow removal, and general yard upkeep
• Following procedures and ensuring site safety compliance

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
• Ability to adapt to daily changes in site scope of work
• Must be able to perform physical work at times (lifting of up to 50lbs)
• Basic mechanical knowledge and comfortable using hand tools
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

• Prior yard maintenance or construction site experience
• Knowledge of basic diesel or trailer mechanics
• Valid safety certifications (e.g. First Aid, H2S, WHMIS)
