    Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with the YMCA of Lethbridge in their search for a Director of People and Culture. The YMCA is a vital community organization that has been a cornerstone of community engagement, child, and youth development, and the promotion of health and well-being within Lethbridge across Canada, and worldwide.     Compensation & Hours:

    • The salary will be $85-95K based on experience
    • Additional PTO policy available
    • This role will be full-time, Monday-Friday
    • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required, based on

    Position Summary:

    • Providing direction and oversight to the People and Culture team, including recruitment, training, development, performance management, offboarding and workforce planning of staff and volunteers.
    • Working closely with other Senior Leadership Team members and CEO to ensure strategic priorities are achieved.
    • Exemplifying core values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility – promoting frameworks that focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
    • Collaboration across the organization to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.
    • Responding to escalated concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner – making decisions that serve as a guide to the rest of the organization.
    • Developing succession plans within departments and providing recommendations on organizational structure, compensation, and remuneration packages based on market data.
    • Implementing performance management policies and programs that include progressive discipline, internal investigations, and performance reviews.
    • Assess current community needs and identify recommendations, in alignment with the Association’s strategic plan, of where to focus growth efforts.
    • Communicating relevant department and association wide information efficiently and accurately.
    • Demonstrating a focus on health and safety practices and procedures.
    • Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders, providing considerable explanation, clarification, and tact on sensitive, complex, or controversial issues.
    • Developing the Department’s annual operating and capital budget, including the monitoring of expenditures, ensuring compliance, forecasting, re-investment suggestions, and investigating variances.
    • Ensuring compliance with HR legislation, safety legislation and YMCA policies and procedures.
    • Following policies regarding confidentiality to safeguard data and information and handle sensitive information with a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated HR Management experience.
    • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources.
    • Experience supervising teams and collaborating with other departments.
    • Strong communication skills and tact regarding sensitive issues and confidentiality.
    • Intermediate to expert knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
    • Candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check.
    • 3 professional references will be required.

    Bonus Points For:

    • CPHR Designation.
    • Previous non-profit experience.
    • Safety Certification or experience working within a COR certified environment.
