Operations Manager

Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with our client in transportation as they work to find an Operations Manager. This pivotal role ensures the optimization of driver safety, performance, safety, and logistics. You will work with your team and across divisions to ensure operational excellence, client satisfaction, and team success.
 
Compensation & Hours:

• The rate of pay will be $80-$100K/year based on experience
• Located in Claresholm, onsite
• Monday-Friday

• Conducting the Onboarding process including interviews, performance reviews, and new employee handbook review.
• Collaborating with Human Resources and Sales to ensure appropriate staffing needs, including the conversion of drivers to contractors and management of contracts

• Reviewing and approving driver expense claims
• Assisting drivers with pay errors, vacation submittals, and sick leaves, communicating with Human Resources or dispatching as needed
• Ensuring all driver testing is completed, dispatching guidelines are followed, and training is maintained for drivers
• Hosting terminal meetings, highlighting staff achievements, and organizing events for staff appreciation
• Attending all safety meetings – ensuring the terminal is organized and clean, and any safety communications are passed to the drivers
• Overseeing the dispatching of drivers to ensure fair and efficient routes that follow company policies
• Completing regular Ride Alongs with drivers
• Working directly with the shop to ensure the correct assets are on site and fleet maintenance is completed in a timely manner

• 5+ years in a management role within operations, dispatching, or fleet management
• Ability to coach and mentor a team of staff across divisions
• Strong communication skills including verbal and written
• Unmatched problem solving skills, including the ability to think on your feet
• Must be a self-motivated, big-picture thinker

• Post Secondary Education
• Experience in the transportation industry
