• Sanitation Technician

    Select is pleased to be working with our client as they search for a reliable and safety-focused Sanitation Operator to support plant cleanliness and food safety standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, compliant, and well-organized production environment while working closely with operations and sanitation teams.

    Compensation & Hours:
    • The rate of pay will be $26/hr
    • Full-time position
    • Rotational 12-hour shifts
     
    Position Summary:
    • Operate sanitation and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
    • Complete scheduled cleaning tasks such as pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, and waste removal
    • Mix, handle, and distribute cleaning chemicals according to safety procedures
    • Conduct basic testing related to sanitation and chemical effectiveness
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure work areas meet housekeeping standards
    • Support food safety and sanitation audits by addressing identified issues
    • Assist operations staff during plant-wide cleanups and sanitation shutdowns
    • Promote proper chemical handling, PPE use, and overall workplace safety
    • Perform additional sanitation or light janitorial duties as required
     
     
    Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
    • Experience or comfort working with industrial or sanitation equipment
    • Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices (WHMIS/TDG awareness preferred)
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with minimal supervision
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team
    • Comfortable working in environments with heat, humidity, and physical demands
    • Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and prioritize tasks
    • Willingness and availability to work rotating shifts when required
    • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
     
     
     
    Bonus Points For:
    • Previous experience in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation
    • Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP or similar systems
    • Mechanical aptitude or troubleshooting experience
    • Experience supporting audits or plant sanitation programs
