    We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Millwright/Welder with extensive experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. This role is based at a hay processing facility, where the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced, agricultural industrial environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
    • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
    • Perform preventative maintenance according to schedules and manufacturer specifications.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
    • Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measurement instruments safely and accurately.
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Collaborate with other trades, engineers, and operations teams to support efficient plant operations.
    • Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Millwright/Welder certification (Red Seal preferred).
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
    • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
    • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or in varying weather conditions.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites if required.

    Preferred Assets:

    • Welding and fabrication experience.
    • Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems.
    • Forklift, aerial lift, or crane certification.
    • Experience in agriculture, mining, food processing, or energy sectors.

    Working Conditions:

    • Full-time; shift work and overtime is required depending on operational needs.
    • Physically demanding environment; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods.
    • Work involves exposure to hay dust, noise, and moving machinery—may not be suitable for individuals with asthma or severe allergies.
    • Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces as needed.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay Range: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
