McMan South has been an important part of the community since 1982 and believes in supporting and encouraging individuals and families in achieving their full potential as members of their community. Through a variety of programs, services, supports and advocacy, we foster an environment where individuals have respect, responsibility, and opportunity.
McMan South is looking for Volunteer Board Members: The Board welcomes applications from all interested and qualified applicants.
How you will contribute:
Governance and Leadership
- Actively participate in board meetings (4 meetings per fiscal year), contributing insights and expertise to inform decision-making processes.
- Provide strategic guidance to ensure the organization's mission and values are upheld.
- Collaborate with fellow board members and senior leadership to develop and implement effective governance policies and practices.
- Stay informed about the organization's activities, programs, and services to provide informed guidance and support.
Financial Oversight
- Review and approve annual budgets, and audit results to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance.
- Monitor financial performance and provide guidance to ensure the organization's financial health and sustainability.
Advocacy and Community Engagement
- Act as an ambassador, representing the organization at public events and community gatherings.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, government representatives, and community partners.
- Advocate for the organization's mission and services, promoting awareness and support within the community.

Qualifications
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic directions.
- Clear Child Intervention Record Check and Criminal Record Check.
- Be a resident of Alberta, preferably in the South Region.
