General Manager
We are looking for a Forward-Thinking Leader with a Strong Business Acumen!
The General Manager reports directly to the board of directors of the EID and supports the Vision, Mission and Values of the EID.
Responsibilities:- Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Financial Resources, Engineering/Operations, Human Resource Management, Facility Management, Land Management, OH&S, Information Services, EIDNet, and Corporate/Public Relations
- Strategic Planning and Implementation of Work Plans to achieve Approved Goals and Objectives
- Budget Preparation and Management: Ensure Effective Delivery of Services in the District
- Develop and Maintain Positive Working Relationships with Government, Irrigation, Agricultural, and Business Representatives
- Communicate with the EID Board, Employees, Customers, Contractors, Vendors, Government Representatives, Irrigation, Agricultural and Business Representatives, and the General Public. Respond to Inquiries and Issues Promptly and Professionally
- Collect and Present Information at Board Meetings Pertinent for Direction/Decision-Making Purposes: Recommend Policies and Actions, and Provide input into Strategic Planning
- Participate in Human Resource Management Processes such as Recruitment, Onboarding/Orientation, Performance Management, Discipline and Career Development
- Maintain Compliance with OH&S and Ensure all EID Employees are in Compliance with OH&S
- Attend Meetings, Conferences and Occasional After Hour Requirements
Requirements:- 5 - 10 years’ Experience in Business Management
- Strategic Thinking Style with a Progressive Nature
- Effective Leadership Skills and Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Project Management Skills
- Critical and Strategic Thinking, Logical Analysis, and Problem Solving/Decision Making Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills with the Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks Concurrently and Meet Deadlines
- Irrigation/Agricultural/Farming Background Considered an Asset
- Valid Alberta Class 5 vehicle operator’s licence
