    General Manager
    We are looking for a Forward-Thinking Leader with a Strong Business Acumen!
     
    The General Manager reports directly to the board of directors of the EID and supports the Vision, Mission and Values of the EID.
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Financial Resources, Engineering/Operations, Human Resource Management, Facility Management, Land Management, OH&S, Information Services, EIDNet, and Corporate/Public Relations
    • Strategic Planning and Implementation of Work Plans to achieve Approved Goals and Objectives
    • Budget Preparation and Management: Ensure Effective Delivery of Services in the District
    • Develop and Maintain Positive Working Relationships with Government, Irrigation, Agricultural, and Business Representatives
    • Communicate with the EID Board, Employees, Customers, Contractors, Vendors, Government Representatives, Irrigation, Agricultural and Business Representatives, and the General Public.  Respond to Inquiries and Issues Promptly and Professionally
    • Collect and Present Information at Board Meetings Pertinent for Direction/Decision-Making Purposes: Recommend Policies and Actions, and Provide input into Strategic Planning
    • Participate in Human Resource Management Processes such as Recruitment, Onboarding/Orientation, Performance Management, Discipline and Career Development
    • Maintain Compliance with OH&S and Ensure all EID Employees are in Compliance with OH&S
    • Attend Meetings, Conferences and Occasional After Hour Requirements
     
    Requirements:
    • 5 - 10 years’ Experience in Business Management
    • Strategic Thinking Style with a Progressive Nature
    • Effective Leadership Skills and Interpersonal Skills
    • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
    • Strong Project Management Skills
    • Critical and Strategic Thinking, Logical Analysis, and Problem Solving/Decision Making Skills
    • Strong Organizational Skills with the Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks Concurrently and Meet Deadlines
    • Irrigation/Agricultural/Farming Background Considered an Asset
    • Valid Alberta Class 5 vehicle operator’s licence
