About Us
Chinook Sexual Assault Centre (CSAC) is a stand-alone organization that provides leadership, advocacy and comprehensive services specific to victims of sexual violence within Southwestern Alberta. Providing crisis support, system navigation, peer support groups, therapeutic groups, specialized police and court support, Who Do You Tell, and counselling to those impacted by sexual assault/abuse and for their supporters. Public education and awareness can be tailored to your agency or group. Serves all ages, however people identify, historic or recent sexual assaults/abuse, and can be self-referred.
Chinook Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, our newest program, provides an innovative response to child abuse investigations in Southwestern Alberta. Working as a partnership between community and government agencies, we bring together professionals involved in child abuse cases, for a coordinated, multidisciplinary response to child abuse victims in Southwestern Alberta. Programming includes systems navigation, needs assessment, specialized police and court support and therapeutic/clinical intervention for children who have experienced abuse. View Personal BioKristine CassieKristine has worked in the human services sector for more than 40 years with substantial experience and advocacy efforts in areas of youth empowerment, housing, domestic and sexual violence. Skilled in the development of programs, policy, risk management and charitable/not for profit leadership, Kristine has been instrumental in a number of community networks locally, provincially and nationally. Kristine served one term as school board trustee with Palliser School Division and completed her second and final term at Lethbridge Polytechnic in June 2024. She serves as the first CEO for the Chinook Sexual Assault Centre, and was also key in the development of the Chinook Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. Kristine is a registered social worker, holds a masters in leadership and is a certified community traumatologist.Tell a Friend
