My Service Canada Account or MSCR – Do you have an active My Service Canada account? Whether it is for personal or business anyone wishing to apply for any of the various government benefits must have registered and have access to their My Service Canada Account to Apply for those benefits.
It is a good idea to log on and make sure that your have access to your account and that your information is up to date, including you banking information for direct deposit. Ensuring this information is correct will allow your application to be processed quicker in the event you need to apply for financial support.
How do I create and have access to a MSCA – My Service Canada Account?
Go online to the Government of Canada Website https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development.html and follow the instructions to register for your account
In order to register for your MSCR, you will need one of the following;
- Personal access code (PAC) A personal access code is a unique and confidential seven-digit code used for identification purposes when registering for MSCA. You must request this code on the MSCR website and one will be mailed to you. If you have already applied or are receiving CPP or OAS benefits a PAC may have already been issued to you.
- Employment Insurance (EI) access Code – An EI access code is a unique and confidential four-digit number the is sent by mail to clients who have successfully submitted their applications for employment Insurance benefits.
- Provincial Digital ID – A provincial digital ID, such as MyAlberta Digital ID, is issued to you by your provincial government and provides access to government services.
After signing in with one of the previously 3 access codes mentioned, you will be redirected to the MSCR page, and you will have to provide all 3 of the following to create you MSCA – My Service Canada Account
- Social Insurance Number
- Date of Birth
- PAC or EI access code
