    Red Crow Community College is a specialized post-secondary institution located on the Blood Reserve in Southern Alberta. Our mission is to meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainai and beyond.

    AVP of Operations

    We are currently seeking an AVP of Operations to work as part of the senior executive team and directly reports to the President. This role provides leadership and oversees IT, Funding & Grants, Finance, O&M staff, other departments and governing bodies. The VP leads the Executive Committee and serves on the Academic and Research Committee.

    Responsibilities:

    • Gain a strong understanding of what makes RCCC unique, including our beliefs and vision for our future
    • Provide leadership and oversee IT, Funding & Grants, Finance and O&M departments
    • Assess and develop a plan to streamline business operations
    • Ensure that all policies and processes are up to date and documented
    • Budget development, forecasting and reporting to management team
    • Resource procurement and allocation
    • Research potential grants and other funding opportunities available to the College
    • Oversee the process of grant writing and submission
    • Motivate and encourage staff with the implementation of new efficiency-focused practices
    • Contribute to the management team’s strategic planning and take the lead on implementation
    • Represent the College in meetings with outside organizations, educational institutions and governing bodies
    • Embrace and honour our Blackfoot traditions and customs and educate those from communities outside our own on RCCC, who we are and what we are working towards
    • Other administrative and operationally focused duties as required

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a management related field
    • 5 years’ experience in a management or leadership position within an adult education setting
    • Strong financial and business acumen, with a robust understanding of accounting practices
    • Ability to identify inefficiencies and create systems to increase effectiveness
    • Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to lead and inspire staff in various departments
    • Self-motivated with a professional and positive attitude
    • High attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Respectful, patient and willing to learn and embrace aspects of a new culture
    • High integrity and ability to build trust
    • Strong computer proficiency with willingness to learn new programs
    • Ability to commute to Stand Off (approximately 45 minutes South West of Lethbridge)
    • A working knowledge of Blackfoot language and an understanding of Blackfoot culture is an asset

    We Offer:
