Sandra Huculak is an community changemaker. Always looking for and encouraging others to explore and seize opportunities, she is devoted professionally and personally to creating life-altering moments and programs that help build community. Her conviction to get on the ground and be in the lived experience of others infuses her approach to leading ATBs corporate social responsibility portfolio.
Sandra has held senior leadership roles in the public and private sectors working in Public Relations, Community Development and Corporate Citizenship. Her strong business acumen lead to the development of Canada’s first biometric financial agency which serves Edmonton’s homeless and vulnerable citizens. She was part of an executive team that helped create the Alberta Heart Institute. Her collaborative efforts with business, community and academic leaders across Canada and beyond have led to creating award-winning initiatives and investments that have had significant social impact. She teaches businesses how to create purposeful corporate citizenship plans. She was part of the World Health Organization’s global team who worked to increase immunization rates in Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East.
On a personal level, Sandra lends her voice and leadership experience to issues related to women, families and children with a particular focus on issues related to equality, inclusion and empowerment. She travels across Alberta, Canada and the US talking about building community capacity using innovative approaches.
Sandra served on the Board for Wings of Providence, Sorrentino’s Compassion House Foundation and was a member of the endpoverty Edmonton Mayor’s Task Force. She is an honorary advisor to the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies & Services at the University of Alberta, and serves on the Boards for the Canadian Centre for CSR at the University of Alberta, and the Edmonton Community Development Corporation.
