    Project Child Recovery Facilitator (1 temporary full-time position available)

    YWCA Harbour House

    Position Description Summary:

    The Project Child Recovery (PCR) Facilitator is responsible for providing educational resource groups for children aged 6-12 years who have been exposed to intimate partner violence and/or other forms of violence in their homes or community. Please note: this is a temporary full-time position (35 hours per week) until March 31st, 2019 with a possibility of extension.

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge:

    ? Knowledge of family violence and related issues.

    ? Knowledge of Children’s Services.

    ? Knowledge of Child Development.

    ? Knowledge of Community Resources.

    ? Knowledge of healthy parenting roles.

    ? Knowledge and ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate groups, workshops.

    ? Cultural awareness for First Nations and Immigrant families.

    Skills/Attributes:

    ? Ability to research and write Articles/Papers.

    ? Sound judgment and problem solving skills.

    ? Ability to assess and interpret behaviours.

    ? Behaviour management techniques.

    ? Counselling and crisis intervention skills.

    ? Ability to work in a team.

    ? Solid communication skills both oral and written.

    ? Organizational skills.

    ? Ability to access and liaison with Community resources.

    ? To be an ambassador for the YWCA and HH programs.

    Education and Experience:

    Completed/or working on a Diploma or Degree in the Human Services Field
