    Housing First Liaison Worker (This position is 35 hours a week)

    YWCA Lethbridge and District

    Position Description Summary:

    The Housing First Liaison Worker is responsible to provide support, referrals, and Life Skills training as needed or requested. This position will also address the needs of the women and children residing in Residence. This Position will actively work with Housing first clients and their case managers with a focus on housing following a housing first model. Priority will be given to those applicants demonstrating open availability- this position will include some evening and weekend work. Please note: this is a term position ending March 31st, 2019 with a possibility of extension.


    Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

    ? Knowledge of the Child Welfare system

    ? Knowledge of courts and legal procedures

    ? Knowledge of resources in the community, especially those pertaining to women

    ? Familiar with YWCA Residence

    ? Crisis intervention and ability to work one on one with clients

    ? Strong communication skills, both oral and written

    ? Ability to work as part of a team

    ? Ability to exercise good judgement and make sound decisions.

    ? Ability to work independently.

    ? Strong organizational skills to maintain a daily routine.

    ? Ability to create a friendly and supportive work environment

    Education and Experience:

    ? 2 year diploma in Human Services field or Bachelor Degree in related field

    ? Suicide Intervention training

    ? First Aid

    ? 1 year minimum related experience

    ? Driver’s license, vehicle and insurance
