    GIRLSPACE AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT FACILITATOR (2 positions available- 35 hours per week)

    Job Description:

    The YWCA Lethbridge and District currently has a full-time position for GirlSpace Facilitator within the GirlSpace program. The GirlSpace and Youth Empowerment Facilitator will assume responsibility for planning and implementing workshops for the YWCA GirlSpace/Girls with Tools program on topics such as self-esteem, leadership, physical activity, career roles, employment, life skill and personal empowerment. The successful candidate will be dynamic, organized and highly motivated, facilitating between 3 and 7 groups each week. The hours of this position will be flexible and based on programming needs, including days, evenings and weekends. Priority will be given to those applicants demonstrating open availability. Please note: There are two positions available 1 temporary full-time and 1 permanent full-time. The temporary full-time position is available until December 31st, 2018 with a possibility of extension.

    Basic Qualifications:

    ? Successful candidate must possess a Degree or Diploma in Education or a Human Services field

    ? Possess Standard First Aid and CPR

    ? Clean Criminal Record and Child Youth Intervention Module (CYIM) Checks

    ? Driver’s license, own vehicle for transporting clients, driver’s insurance with 2 million dollar liability

    ? Must be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract

    ? All staff must follow the Canadian Social Work Code of Ethics

    Preferred Skills:

    ? Experienced in child and youth care and management of emotionally and behaviourally challenged youth (including those with mental health issues) ages 8-22

    ? Excel in the areas of group preparation, lesson planning and workshop facilitation

    ? Possess superior verbal and written communication skills; maintain accurate records and paperwork

    ? Be culturally sensitive and actively supportive of helping youth maintain their cultural and spiritual beliefs

    ? Respectful in their approach to working with youth

    ? Possess 16 hour Suicide Intervention Certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention

    ? Have taken a minimum 16 hours of Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training
