Voting is now open for the 2018-2019 Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
All members in good standing with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce are eligible to vote for the Board of Directors. Please note that only one voting form will be accepted per company and subsequent submissions will not be accepted.
You may select up to six (6) nominees for Directors.

Cindy Duclos Peterhans, Desjardins Financial Security
I’m Cindy Duclos Peterhans, I have called Lethbridge my home for the past 17 years. I have been in the financial services industry for over 25 years, starting as a casual teller at a big bank. Over my career I was the manager of customer service and then moved to an advisor role. I then began working as an IIROC advisor at a credit union as their full service broker advising clients on stocks and bonds. I am now a Certified Financial Planner® working as an Independent Advisor with Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network.
I have a willingness to make time, effort and the financial commitment necessary to give the proper attention to Chamber responsibilities.
A business and work experience that will assist in the exercise of sound judgment in considering problems of the Chamber as they relate to the overall program of community development.
The ability to inspire others and to command the respect of associates in responding to worthwhile initiatives sponsored by the Chamber, and to motivate others to resolve community problems.
The ability to work constructively and harmoniously with directors, members and staff of the Chamber in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors.
I understand that the proper performance of responsibility by Directors and Officers is vital to the sound and efficient operation of the Chamber.
As a director with the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce:
- I will help determine the goals of the Chamber through its approved program of work.
- I will attend regularly scheduled Board meetings.
- I will attend all Chamber programs and events throughout the year.
- I will serve on at least one committee.
- I will welcome all new members, encourage involvement and actively recruit new members.
Lorri Guimond, Clear Sky Radio
My name is Lorri Guimond and I am a senior marketing consultant with 94.1 CJOC, 98.1 The Bridge and Clear Sky Digital. I have been working closely with local Southern Alberta business owners for over 4 years to create custom marketing strategies to help their business be successful. Prior to my time in Lethbridge I worked for Guess Canada Wholesale as a brand manager for Western Canada and at Sport Chek as a marketing specialist purchasing media nationwide. Both jobs required me to travel all over Canada allowing me the true pleasure of exploring our awesome country! It would be a great privilege to sit on the board helping businesses serve our great city. I believe my exposure to various corporate environments and Canadian cities would be an asset to the Board. I was born and raised in Montreal and am bilingual. My husband and I have a 16 month old son named Asher who is the light of our life. We live on the West Side and are involved in our community by supporting and volunteering with various organisations. I am an avid camper, dog lover, workout enthusiast and over all optimist!
Dave Hasley, Varsteel Ltd.
Dave Hasley has over 20 years of management experience in the business sector in both Manitoba and Alberta. He is the Corporate Human Resources Manager and Health Safety and Environment Manager with Varsteel Ltd. He has his diploma in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources and Accounting. He has served as
Chair of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering for Southern Alberta, and is a current member of the Human Resources Institute of Alberta. He is also a Certified COR Safety Auditor in Alberta and B.C.
Current Co-Chair of the Human Resources Policy Committee.
Trevor Loomer, Tetra Tech Inc.
Profession: Civil Engineer
Experience: 15 years experience in the consulting industry
Expertise: Project Management, Group leadership.
Fundraising Experience: Fundraising for sports teams, school functions, various boards (Family Centre, APEGA, UDI)
Career Highlights: I am currently the Regional Manager for the Prairie Geotechnical Group for Tetra Tech Canada Inc. My responsibilities include management of five staffing groups in six different offices across the Prairie Provinces encompassing over 100 staff.
Significant Accomplishments: I have been married for almost 22 years and have two wonderful children age 9 and 12. In 2017, I was granted the Certificate of Fellowship (FEC) from Engineers Canada in honor of exceptional contributions to the engineering profession in Canada. I was also granted the designation of Honorary Fellow [FGC (Hon.)] by Geosciences Canada, in honour of the
commitment to achieve professional excellence through exceptional contributions to the geosciences profession in Canada.
What are you known for? I have been involved in the growth of the City of Lethbridge through the land development activities that are ongoing in north, south and west Lethbridge. I previously served a six-year term on the Family Centre Board of Directors [2009-2015], I am currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Lethbridge branch of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta [2006-current] and am currently the Secretary Treasurer on the Board of Director for the Urban Development Institute (UDI) Lethbridge branch [2005-current].
Amber Joss (Hungerford), Belanger Accounting
Amber Joss, CPA, CA is a member of the management team at Belanger Accounting. She delivers strong assurance services and tax advice to owner-managed businesses in Southern Alberta. Growing up in a household sustained by a small business provided her with insight into the challenges faced by small business owners and their families. Rather than simply providing assurance and tax services, Amber prides herself on getting to know her clients and their businesses, allowing her to understand their needs and identify appropriate solutions to find their success and realize their dreams.
In 1999, Amber began her accounting career with MNP in Pincher Creek where she worked as a student and obtained her Chartered Accountant’s designation in 2004. At this time, she transferred to the Lethbridge MNP office where she began building a client base made up of primarily owner-managed businesses. She made the move to Belanger Accounting this past December.
Amber volunteered as a member of the finance committee of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce beginning in 2012, is currently a member of the HYPE committee and sat on the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors from 2012 – 2015 in her capacity as the VP of Finance. In her time in this role, she was instrumental in implementing a new accounting system for the Chamber which earned her the Tom Ackerman Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award in 2015.
For the last ten years, Amber has also chosen to volunteer preparing tax returns for low income families in Lethbridge.
Tara Lennox, Select People Solutions
Tara has been employed with Select People Solutions since 2010. From RCMP to employment facilitator, Tara's diverse background gives her valuable insight into an array of industries and business in the job market in Southern Alberta. In her current role as Senior Manager with Select, Tara uses her experience to conduct effective recruiting, business development, top talent promotions, and excels at maintaining win-win relationships with valued clients.
She was past Chair for the Lethbridge YMCA and is current Community Campaign Chair; she is passionate about her community and the businesses that make this city vibrant. She has raised a tremendous amount of money for Strong Kids at YMCA by riding a stationary bike for more hours than anyone ever should!
For the past 2 years, Tara has volunteered on the Chamber HR & Workforce Development Committee and is excited about the opportunity in becoming part of the Chamber Board.
Roy Pogorzelski, Pogo Bros & University of Lethbridge
Roy Pogorzelski is Metis from Saskatchewan and is the owner of Pogo Bros Inc and a new business venture entitled 4 Gents Inc. Roy has a BHJ and BA from the University of Regina and a MSC from K.U. Leuven in Belgium. Roy is very involved in the community as a member of the U of L Senate, member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA, incoming President for the Rotary Club of Lethbridge Mosaic and was appointed to the national Board of Director for the Canadian Race Elations Foundation where he is an advisor to UNESCO’s national CMARD initiative. Roy has been a sessional instructor for the Dhillon School of Business for the past 3 years and also currently works as a Director in Indigenous Student Affairs. Roy has been involved with the Chamber as the co-chair of the former Aboriginal Opportunities Committee, has assisted with policy in regards to inclusion & Indigenous peoples and has collaborated on community projects with the Chamber. Roy also facilitates sessions on Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights Policy. Pogo Bros Inc has received awards for their Festival Oktoberfest YQL as 2016 Southwest Alberta “Festival of the Year”, they were awarded a Canada 150 award from MP Racheal Harder as Business of the Year for volunteerism and Roy was the overall top BDO 40 under 40 winner in 2017 at the Chamber of Commerce Awards.
Mike Prociw, Economic Development Lethbridge
Leadership, advocacy and teamwork is how Mike has successfully combined his educational background with his personal and professional life. After obtaining his Masters degree in Political Science from Wilfred Laurier University, he relocated to Lethbridge to apply his skills as Market Analyst to Economic Development Lethbridge. He analyzes economic data and extracts trends and information that is subsequently used to highlight the strengths Lethbridge has to offer. This value he brings in identifying trends and factors has made Mike an integral member of the EDL team.
His skills and experience are also extensive – from presenting in the boardroom to leading a commercial & industrial development study as project lead – a testament for his aptitude to change roles when required.
While Mike possesses technical expertise, his real drive comes from his passion of helping others in the community. He has the ability to see the potential in people and places and works tirelessly to help them achieve it. Mike has contributed to the Lethbridge community in various ways since relocating, as witnessed by his involvement with the Urban Spirits Rotary Club, Lethbridge Tennis Club, Lethbridge Jazz Society, and the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce Natural Resource and Municipal Policy & Direction committees. On his own time, Mike and his partner Savanna enjoy volunteering at a seniors home, taking part in the Lethbridge Public Library book club, sampling microbrews, and spending time with their cat Melky.

I am an extremely dedicated and loyal individual. I have been interested in the automotive industry for as long as I can remember and am lucky to have been extremely successful doing what I love. My success was built by consistently focusing on improving myself and the companies I represent. I have an outstanding work ethic and hold myself to a high level of excellence. As result, I strive to develop those qualities in the team I am responsible for.
I’m married to Christie Schipper and we have two young boys who we love dearly and who keep us busy(!). I was born and raised in Lethbridge where my family has deep roots. Both my parents started, maintained, and sold businesses in Lethbridge. One of which was a multi generational drug store that started business in 1918 and is still in business today (Stokes Drugs). Suffice to say, small business and entrepreneurship is in my blood.
I am excited to enter the next stage of my career and begin to give back to the community that has supported me for so long…just as my grandfather, Jack Stokes, taught me to do.

Sharon Sproule, Alger Zadeiks Shapiro LLP
Sharon Sproule is a long-time member of the Lethbridge community who brings with her 20 years of legal experience encompassing client advocacy, mediation, dispute resolution and trial representation. Ms. Sproule holds a B.A. from the University of Lethbridge and a LL.B. from the University of Calgary. She has served as both in-house counsel and external legal advisor, providing leadership and guidance on a broad range of legal, governance and business growth matters for Boards, public sector institutions, nonprofit agencies, and private industry clients. Ms. Sproule was also a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge, and a frequent lecturer and presenter for various community associations, including the Public Legal Education Network of Alberta, Executive Women’s International, and the Canadian Association of University Solicitors. As an involved member of her community, Ms. Sproule has also held various Chair, Director, Board member and Board committee positions with not-for-profit and service-based community organizations in Lethbridge, and most recently was appointed to serve as a Public Member for the Alberta Health Professions College Council.
